Wrestlemania Predictions!!!
Mood:  don't ask
Topic: Tony
First off, all the props and respect go to the Pope. John Paul the 2nd was a great man. He actually did what he preached and was a big promoter of peace and social justice. I even went to church today.

And with that, on to the predictions of what may be the best Wrestlemania ever.

1. Eddy Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio (Jr. that is).

This is going to be a great great match. I love Eddy and Rey always finds a new way to be exciting. In my mind, Eddy is much better. I see Eddy winning by cheating here, sewing the seeds for a longer term feud, hopefully ending in a ladder match for some title.

2. Trish Stratus vs Christy Hemme (the hottie champ vs the giggling chick in Playboy).

Trish is a better wrestler and promo than most of the men in wwe. Christy, on the other hand, isn't. If this doesn't suck, then we're in for a surprise. And I pick Trish to win here.

3. Big Show vs Akebono (Sumo or humpty vs dumpty).

I see Akebono winning and Big Show going back heel by just raging for losing this match. Possible chokeslam to the big guy from Japan.

4. Orton vs Undertaker. (dead man's record vs the dead face turn)

Orton should win. This feud is better than most give it credit for, but it could have been so much more. Both workers have done a great job at putting it over on their own though. How long will Undertaker be around? Plus, they're really pumping his undefeated streak here, so if anyone could or should end it, it's the Legend Killer.

5. 6 Man Money in the bank Ladder Match. (Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Edge, Christian, Kane, OH MY)

I want Shelton to win. He is such a good wrestler it's not even funny. Edge is the predictable winner though. But how long is Batista even going to hold the belt for a long time if he wins? This match is about who Triple H's next opponent will be. With that in mind, I'm gonna go with Shelton.

6. Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels (God vs God)

The Pope should have been the special ref, but obviously that isn't happening. Kurt's days in the ring may be numbered, and wrestlers usually go out on their back, much like Lita. So I'm picking Shawn in an amazing matchup.

7. JBL vs John Cena (The Internet's most hated wrestler finally loses)

C'mon, it's obvious this match is Cena's to win. But the real secret is that it will be a very entertaining match up.

8. Triple H vs Batista (The Animal? Rob Schneider playing a mamber of Evolution?)

This feud is made for Batista to win. So he should. I like both guys, but I don't see how this can be a great match. Then again, I'm wrong about a lot of stuff.

Oh, and Piper's Pit with Steve Austin?! This has the potential to kick some serious ass. In the words of The Cat - Somebody Call my Momma!

Do not see the film "Robots" under any circumstances. Anybody that knows how to read falls well outside of the target demographic for this movie. The movie is also quite a failure as a "family movie"... there are very, very few things that could have been done worse with this movie. I feared that all of the possible robot jokes had already been done by Futurama, but this movie didn't even contain very many attempts at making them. This is probably good, but it leaves the movie really slow and empty. There are so many missed opportunities for both robot and non-robot jokes that all the audience is left with to try to enjoy is the ridiculously trivial and poorly-developed plotline. This is also a decisive new low for Robin Williams as a voice actor.

I'm not even sure why I'm going into detail about this... needless to say, I was forced to see this under awkward circumstances with my family. Half of the posters of this blog can put the blame on my father for having a birthday and my mother for trying to plan something fun for it (and missing the target entirely). I'll wrap this post up with two final points.

1) As soon as I saw the tagline on the promo poster in the theater (see for yourself), I created an assessment of how awful the movie would be. It proved to be quite accurate.

2) If you are still planning on willingly seeing this movie, please stop reading this post right here, as there is spoiler information ahead.

Is it just me, or is the LEAST significant thing in the news usually the thing they're making the biggest deal about?

The Michael Jackson trial. The Kobe trial. The Schiavo Trial. The trial where the psycho guy killed his wife.

Seriously. Who gives a fuck?

Now that isn't to be cold. I feel sorry for that kid if Michael Jackson really did abuse him. If Kobe raped that woman, I feel sorry for her (and if he didn't, I feel sorry for him), etc. etc.

But think about it. THOUSANDS of people are dying in places like the Sudan, Palestine, Iraq, etc. etc. And it gets very little airplay in comparison. It's all just a distraction to greater issues in our society. People take the idiot pacification pill once a day in the form of radio/TV broadcasts and ignore the larger class war going on all around us.

Fuck this shit. Turn off, tune out, get active, fuck shit up.

Peace and class war,
Justin

I haven't posted in a few weeks, but there's very good reason. I lost the password. Kudos to my new wireless connection allowing me to get online in my living room on the machine with the password saved on it.

First of all, I got a new job. Three cheers for me! I'm working for Wayne Fontana for state senate in Pittsburgh. He's the democrat running against a democrat turned republican in a special election on May 17th. Wish us luck, or send a donation.

I've become almost addicted to online monopoly on games.com. If you're ever on there, look me up, I'm papasmurff.

This Terri Schaivo thing pisses me off. Everyone on the tv is talking like they're some sort of authority. They also sound like this has been an issue for a month and that her husband is giving up too quickly. The last time this woman was able to move around, we hadn't gone into Iraq the first time! Insanity, everywhere. And these people who are getting arrested trying to give her water or food. She can't eat! That's why she has a feeding tube. If food goes in through her mouth, she'll choke and die. I swear, America woke up one morning and collectively took a stupid pill.

Aslan doesn't seem as pumped for wrestlemania as I am. I'll do my preview at the end of the week, after Smackdown. But, I must say, the Kurt Angle/Shawn Michaels feud has been beyond amazing. WWE is better than most people want to admit.

Oh, and it's Easter. Which means Jesus is back, and boy is he pissed.

Nah, i'm just joking, its been a hectic week, it's not like i've been posting up a storm either. Let's see what i have to say... hmm... This monday is the last RAW before wrestlemania, and my mania plans are the same as last year in that i have none other than to watch it. This means that i'll probably end up watching it with jake, which is alot of fun, but there is something to be said for watching it with someone who actually IS a wrestling fan, which jake is not. Jake was a wrestling fan as a kid, so all he says all show is "man, wrestling needs to be more like it used to be, with just crazy characters doing rediculous stuff." He misses the fact that the product has grown with the audience and that the majority of fans that were 10 in the 80's are in thier 20's now, and want a more realistic show with more intense and adult storylines and drama and comedy. He just wants the Ultimate warrior to gorilla press Jake the Snake onto his pet Damien, and this somehow leads to Jake the Snake leading Ultimate warrior into a confrontation with the undertaker including a staredown with a plastic toy snake in a coffin.

That being said, I am glad to have Jake at least to watch mania with (and yes, Jake, this is an official invitation) because i find myself devoid of wrestling fan friends. I keep a relatively high standard of mental prowess in my friends and this doesnt often include alot of wrestling fans. I watch wrestling with a group of kids down in school in orlando, and while they were all great guys, they were all just this side of a brick wall in terms of engagin intellect. Ahh, memories.

On the weeks leading up to wrestlemania they air all these little snippets of wrestlemania memories from the past and such, and i'm not ashamed to admit, they really are fond memories for me, most of them, wrestling and therefore the biggest show on the planet, wrestlemania, has been a fun part of my life since i was very little. This year will be no different, i'll be sitting in front of the TV watching the good ( HHH v Batista ) the bad (JBL v Cena) and the ugly (Big Show and Akebono in sumo diapers), so if you want to enjoy the showcase of the immortals with me, stop on by, i'll be in the basement.

About Audioslave - I HATED this band when it first came out... mostly because it was just an average hard rock band. I thought when you put one of the best singers from the 90s (Chris Cornell) with one of the best heavy political bands from the 90s (RATM sans Zach De La Rocha), you'd get something that would be fucking mindblowing.

Instead we got Led Zeppelin, the sequel...

But now I'm starting to like it. Because I realized that in my collection of music, I don't have any unrepentantly hard rocking material... but with Audioslave I do...

Funny how things work out.

I have a ton of hope for the new Zach De La Rocha album, which is being produced by Trent Reznor. I've heard one track from it, and it sounds like industrial meets hardcore punk. Seems like both Zach and Trent are getting back to their roots...

Random Thoughts #1
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: St. James Infirmary Blues - The White Stripes

I felt the need to put down some thoughts I have and feel the world (or the 3 people that read this) should know:

There are a few yearly events I look forward to and two of them occur this weekend. The first is the broadcast of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. It pretty much kicked ass although I have to think I'd feel pretty insulted if Rod Stewart was the one to induct me. I guess the Bee Gees were busy. It's cool to see these guys just hanging out and then jamming.

The second event I'm talking about is the Roasts that are on Comedy Central every year. Last year's Denis Leary Roast left a lot to be desired since it was the first put on by Comedy Central and not the Friars' Club. I have become somewhat shamefully hooked on Blue Collar TV and I'm looking forward to listening to these guys bust on each other for a night. We'll see how it goes. Lack of Jeffrey Ross could be a very bad thing.

During this time I'd like to induct a video game into my personal Hall of Fame. Welcome, Toejam & Earl. Just a completely insane game that keeps me occupied for hours whenever I decide to play it. Whoever came up with this game had was high on something and a genius. The Carrot Man, the Nerd Herd, the insane doctor, and of course their home planet of Funkotron all have a special place in my heart.

Finally this evening, I decided to come up with my all-star cast for Saturday Night Live and it goes something like this:

Bill Murray
Gilda Radner
John Belushi
Eddie Murphy
Phil Hartman
Dana Carvey
Mike Meyers
Chris Farley
Will Ferrel
Cheri Oteri
Molly Shannon
Horatio Sans
Martin Short
and Dennis Miller doing Update

I welcome all disagreements and arguements. Make your own list if you want, but make it 14 total. I have a feeling I'm going to want to change this somehow tomorrow, but for now I'll stick with this.

Old Lyrics
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Aslan
So on wednesday night, I had the pleasure of performing with my symbiotic rap partner, The InsurMOUNTable Ghost, for the first time in a long long time, and we performed two songs together from the old days. It was really a reminder of how different my lyrics then were compared to now. I was a teenager, i suppose, with alot less of substance on my mind and all my lyrics were just over the top hyperbole of dominance and superiority. I thought i'd come in and share with people who only know my more recent music some lyrics from these two songs we played on wednesday...

"The war evokes the thoughts to choke the broken
the joker is loud but the seventh is soft spoken
consider it evidence that my crew rolls deep
come up to me with that i'll squash the whole beef
I'm ready , i got the scent of blood on my paws
I'll rip through your sternum and leave you tangled in my jaws
i'm incredible, cant defeat what you cant beat
and the rest of my crew will leave you layin at my feet
Lyrically i bore through many cerebellums daily
universally control more comets than haley
Greater than god, Bow down to the enygma
burn a 7 in your chest, wear it as a stygma
final testament to your defeat at my hand
your existence personifies everything i cant stand
the lyrics i pen are more insane than the mad hatter
i rip mics with talons sharper than velociraptors
cant be captured, cant pin down my style man
i mutate more than people on 3 mile island
i rock shows from new brunswick to hades
rock mics so hard i turn the demons to ladies
because my flow is nothing less than extremely outrageous
the last time i spit i brought an end to the creteacous
cause lyrically i cause international disaster
when i jack the feul for my rhyme machine's flux capacitor
i mastered a method of dropping like confuscious
to paint out pictures in varied blues greens and fuscias.."

see what i'm saying?
